This is a bit of a follow up to the post titled Priorities.
Life’s a funny thing. You make a decision to move on with your life, to get things done you’ve been putting of or playing around with for ever and a half (when instead you were supposed to have been serious the entire time), and all of a sudden stuff happens. People begin to notice and things come at you from all sorts of different places. (A wise man once said “When you make the decision to move on, who’s looking?” I think I’m finally starting to understand that line.)
Side note: Actually, I should qualify that “playing around” comment. There are times in life when you get excited about doing this and doing that, and start to do what you think you should do to get what it is you want to get done, done. But then life gets in the way. And it happens so gradually that by the time you notice, you realize how much time you’ve wasted playing around, letting urgent things get in the way of important things, and fooling yourself into thinking you were being serious about those goals.
(If you don’t understand this comment, don’t worry. The people this message is aimed at will.)
Last night I was chatting with a few friends after a workshop we were all at when one of the guys (I’ll call him “Morocco Mole”) turns to me and says “Monthly updates, eh?”
Not exactly a comment I expected. Especially since I thought no one other than myself and the random blogger ever really came to read the site.
I laughed. “Yeah, I guess.” Now, at the back of my mind I’m thinking Ah, it’s probably one of the Penguin Games.
I continued, “I didn’t think anyone came to the site any more since I haven’t updated it in like a month.”
“Yeah, I go once in a while,” said Morocco Mole.
Then another one of the guys (I’ll call him “Junior”) turns and tells me, “I go there too, though I haven’t gone in about a month.”
Wow, cool! Though seriously, I’m… humbled…
I looked at Morocco Mole, then I looked at Junior, and in my most even tone I said “…Cool.”
I guess I’m entertaining more than just myself and Mr. Random Blogger, which is why I’m sorry I don’t have more time for this. But stuff’s gotta get done. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some work to do.
